Because the position I am taking with the city doesn't currently offer benefits as it is only a temp position, I've spent a good portion of the last week at the dentist, getting everything tuned up. I didn't need a great lot of work, but a filling and two wisdom teeth pulled later, here I am. I fear the dentist. I hate the drills and bits, especially the one that sounds like it should be used for woodworking rather than for teeth. I realized that my choice to leave Ridsdale is a good one, considering it had been a few years since I had been to the dentist. My schedule there really doesn't allow it. If I missed work, that just left my coworker scrambling to cover the rest of the day and didn't leave anything for me to catch up on the next day. Sacrificing ones health, oral or physical for a job doesn't make sense when I think of it. However, that is what I've done.
